When Did Jesus Become Real

Richard Waialeale

Scripture

Acts 9:3-6 (NLT)

3 As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him.

4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?”

5 “Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting!

6 Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

Observation

In every persons life as a Christian, there’s a time when Jesus became real. When Jesus was so real and present that I almost could feel and touch Him. That moment would change the way we live and obey. For Paul, a Pharisee, walking along the road to Damascus, Jesus paid him a visit and it was at that moment that Jesus became real to him. It would change his life forever. As for me, a two month old visitor to church, sitting inside the auditorium listening to the message, the Holy Spirit struck me with those words, “saving lives and winning souls for Jesus.” It would change my life forever. It was at that moment Jesus became real to me.

Application

Since that first time in 1996 that Jesus became real to me, I’ve had many encounters with Jesus. Each time I followed what was inside my heart, Jesus did a miracle in me. The key is matching the situation with the right attitude. I may not understand it all, but if I throw my heart over the line and follow Jesus, I will see the presence of the Lord working inside of me. There will be many more times when Jesus becomes real to me, straighten up, stand up and pick up my attitude and follow Him. He will make my paths straight.

Prayer

Psalms 16:7-8 (NLT)

I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

Thank you Lord for shining brightly as I walk with You, In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen.
