Catching Hell

Richard Waialeale

Scripture
Romans 1:28-31 (NIV) 28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
Observation
I find that people who choose to believe that there is no God, feel like they are god (whether directly or indirectly). They want that control of being god so they choose to remove him from their mind. The mental vacuum created by dismissing God is filled with all kinds of active sin.
Right now I’m dealing with two couples (separately) who want to get married but do not believe in God. So why did they choose the church. It’s their parents that are trying to save them. They’re allowing the church to officiate their wedding on an account of their parents.
Application
My application to this difficult problem is this: I love you too much to see you go on like this. Know my heart when I tell you this, I only say this in love. (If I begin my challenge to these couples with love and in love, it helps me break down some walls that have been built. But the bottom line is that I will not compromise my stance and what God has called me to do and I have chosen to be a man of God pointing everyone to Jesus.
Prayer
Jesus I pray that Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven in everyone. Amen.
