The Vomit Taste Junk

Jay Miura

Scripture

Gal 4:8Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to those that by nature are not gods. 9But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more? 10You observe days and months and seasons and years! 11I am afraid I may have labored over you in vain.

Observation

Paul is pleading to the Galatians not to go back to the slavery that they were freed from. The Galatians were apparently falling back into the bondage of the Law and Paul fervently implores the Church to walk in freedom with Christ.

Application

All through out the Bible we see the fallen nature of man that without fail is like a dog that returns to his vomit. The very thing that was holding us down in the first place is the very thing that we keep on returning to. My vomit is insecurity and self worth. I must remember that I know the One in whom I was made in the image of and that I am also known and loved by Him. It is so easy to return to the stinking thinking of the past so these types of reminders of what I was saved from are so important.

Prayer

Lord Jesus thank you for freeing me. Please forgive me for at times giving in and believing the whispers of the World. Please help me to glorify you as I live in freedom with you. I love You Lord. In Jesus Name. Amen
