I Am Blessed!

Carl Higashi

Scripture

John 20:29-31

Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

Observation

Seeing is believing goes the worldly saying. Jesus tells Thomas, that those who believe in faith of Him are blessed.

There were many unrecorded miracles that were witnessed by His disciples, but they were not recorded. These miracles happened, but they weren't so important it seems to John and God that they needed to be documented. This scripture clearly does want to emphasize that God wants us to believe in Jesus in faith. So, He did not even try to reveal ALL the miracles that He took part of in the Book of John.

The book of John was specifically written that people would come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. John also wants us to know that through faith in Him alone, all those who believe would be blessed.

Application

There are some that need proof, but what The Lord is telling me is I need to trust in Him and believe.

In situations that I am placed in, I will be asked to have faith while not fully understanding why, or not knowing exactly how things are going to work out. In those times where there is no clear cut way, unless there is clear reasons not to believe, may I instead trust in The Lord and His leadership that He has placed me under fully submitting to God's authority and the authority that He has put in place.

By doing this, God assures me that I will be blessed. That is a good place for me to be...BLESSED!

Prayer

Lord thank you for the safety and security that there is in trusting You. Jeremiah was called to do many strange things, but as he was faithful in doing what You were asking of him, You were also faithful to protect him from any foes. As I may be called to do some "strange or difficult" things in ministry, may I trust in You like Jeremiah.

Lord help me to trust You more and more each day. May I be totally submitted and humble in all situations and to Your authority and those You have blessed me with as leaders. Thank You Lord for your assurance of blessings as I am fully submitted and trusting You. I am blessed! Love You Lord with all my heart! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
