Scripture

4For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Hebrews 3:4

Observation

Looking for a house is exciting even if you are not in the market for it. As you are looking at the house one of the first things that you may want to find out is who built the house. You don't want so shoddy builder building your house. What this verse is saying that even if we know that the builder of the house is important, the builder of everything is the Lord. Nothing we have no matter how much we think that we bought it or we worked for it trace it back and everything is really His.

Application

As I read this verse I thought of how accurate this verse is all that I have not just the house and all its furnishing is His, But everything else even that abilities that I have to attain them. But the next verses are the next and greater challenge. Getting the house is definitely huge parts of it however how well are you faithful to steward all that God has give you. It is so easy to want more and more and then struggle to take care of it. I am guilt of wanting more. I thought that my eyes were my biggest problem, but it not my eyes it really the desires in my heart that needs to be checked. Paul reminds me that contentment is key to checking my heart. You can have very little and be discontented and you can have everything and still be discontented. What I am continually realizing that when I am contented it is some much easier to steward what God has given me and to satisfied with what I already am give. Everything that I have is His.

Prayer

Thank you Lord for reminding how everything I have is given to by you and the privilege I have to steward what you have given me.
