Not positive confession - High Priest commissioned

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
Observation
There is a promise of entry into an eternal rest in the Lord, for our future. It’s not by our efforts or works but will require perseverance as the writer of Hebrews communicates. Our part to enter God’s rest is knowing and hearing the Word of the Lord. It’s not only the written Word, but the living, spoken word of God. He speaks by His Spirit in our inner man, knowing our hearts (v10)

Entering the rest God has laid before me, means that I must know Jesus - who He is - what He’s fulfilled - what I must trust and know. And that is…[14]Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. [15]For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
Application
It’s not my “positive confession” that will strengthen my faith. Jesus, my HIgh Priest’s commission is what I must know and trust. His commission is one of grace and mercy. I’m assured and empowered to hold on to my confident confession in Jesus mercy and grace, I’ve been commissioned by my HIgh Priest - to have full entry into my future, eternal rest.

Prayer
Dear Jesus I draw near to You - to Your throne of grace, with confidence knowing You love me. Thank you for drawing me near to You by the Spirit! Thank you so much for commissioning me in and to Your throne of Grace!
