The Great Tribulation

Richard Waialeale

Scripture

Revelation 7:14 (NIV)

Observation

The book of Revelation is about the last days or end times. Lot of people today believe we are in the end times because of all the natural disasters, civil wars and conflicts happening in this world. Scripture says there are some that will come out of the great tribulation. Who are those people and what is the great tribulation?

Let me first start with the Rapture, an event when the church is taken to meet the Lord. When the Bible says post-Tribulation, this is when the Rapture happens after the tribulation. When the Bible says mid-Tribulation, it’s a time when the Rapture is happening during the tribulation. And then pre-Tribulation is when the Rapture happens before the tribulation.

All of this tribulation and rapture can get confusing but Jesus said we can expect difficulties and troubles in this world (John 16:33).

So what am I to do during this post, pre and mid-tribulation?

Application

I must go back to the Word of God, and the Bible says (v. 9), “After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.

10 And they cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb."

In the end - we win. God is faithful. I must keep my eyes on Jesus by staying focused in God’s Word. Jesus take hold of my hand and walk me through this - He will never let me go. I must not let go of Jesus. Keep my eyes on Him.

Prayer

Dear Lord, I pray that when it all comes to a head, whether struggling in marriage, unforgiveness, anger, relationships, friendships – Keep my eyes on Jesus and do the right thing.

It’s not about end times events, so that I start to chart it.

Revelation is telling me what will happen so I can draw closer to Jesus Christ. Keep my Eyes on Jesus.

Then when we get our lives together, and whatever happens, millennium, rapture, tribulation.

When we all draw closer to Him, He will shine like the morning star.

Thank you for God is faithful.

Amen.
