Fear Of The Lord

Richard Waialeale

Scripture

Romans 5:15 (NLT)

15 But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:18 (NLT)

18 Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone.

Observation

There’s a difference between being scared of God and the Fear of the Lord.

In Adam, we hide from God, because in our sin, we have everything to fear.

In Jesus Christ. We worship God, because in His righteousness, we have nothing to hide.

The fear of the Lord is different then being scared of God.

When you’re scared of God – you’re scared of what He’s going to do to you – because of what you’ve done to Him.

The fear of the Lord is a good term. When Jesus came to earth, He came into its fullness.

See God already done to Jesus, what He should have done to you, because of what you’ve done to Him.

The fear of the Lord is no longer being scared of God.

Here’s what it is. The Fear of the Lord is being terrified of ever being outside of His protection.

Application

I have nothing to hide, as long as I continue to do the right thing. Be thankful and give thanks. Do not judge. Love God, Love people and serve the World. Simply, do the right thing.

Prayer

Thank you Lord for being in my life. Teaching me and guiding me every step of the way. Fill me with the love of Jesus and protect me as I serve the world - In Your Name I Pray these things. Amen.
