A Brother, doing Kingdom Life.

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture

I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. Revelation 1:9

Observation

John is introducing and establishing himself to the 7 churches and disciples he is writing to. With impending prophetic words of future judgment and redemption to be penned, John associates in relationship to his fellow Christians.

Knowing the trials the churches are facing, he identifies with their suffering but emphasizes the BIG WHY and FOR WHOM they are partnering in tribulation.
• As a Brother.
• As a Partner in the Tribulation.
• As a Partner in the Kingdom.
• As a Partner in the patient endurance in Jesus.

Application

This is who I want to be to my family, my fellow Christians - a committed brother and partner in the Kingdom Life. I want to be a Kingdom brother doing Kingdom Life for our King! The Kingdom action I must take is to continue developing in Kingdom character. For me to partner with others side by side in tribulation - is to grow in developing patient endurance in Jesus.

How?

What’s coming to mind right now….?
• My growth has to be on account of, grounded in the Word of God and the testimony (gr. witness, reputation) of Jesus!
• Be spiritually sensitive to my inner conscience - where His Spirit speaks to me.
• Continue digging in quiet, deeper, slow-cooker meditation of God’s Word. Ponder, wait, think - go slow, consider context, authors intent, the setting.
• Hang out with Christian scholars, teachers, disciples of like mind. (Solid Biblical Teaching-web)

Prayer

Thank you Spirit of God for being my Teacher within. My conviction to live a Kingdom Life as a child of God is what I’m super doooooooper grateful for! May I continue to be pleasing to You, to honor You in all things within and through my life - as my King!!!!
