When People Sin against me

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture

He shall make atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make atonement for the tent of meeting and for the altar, and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly. Leviticus 16:33

Observation

Reading throughout the laws and processes to be right with God makes me really consider the grace of our God through Jesus! His atoning sacrifice - the work of the cross has eliminated all the rules and regulations of fulfilling the law to be right with God.

Application

On a personal ministry note - what kind of hoops do I expect people who sin to “jump through?” I wonder if at times I get too legalistic and place unnecessary, more stringent expectations on people - more than Jesus does?

What kinds of regulations/rules do people have to to jump through to be right with me?

I’m thinking when people sin against me - I have a process and expectations for them to walk through. Disciplinary procedures are good and we need to establish boundaries, seeing people through reconciling processes, that they may be restored in relationships. But when it comes to the Lord - the blood of Jesus, His cross, His slaughter and sacrifice has atoned for every single sin and wrong doing - of mine and of others!

With Jesus, His arms are open - His heart eager to love and forgive all who draw near to Him. I am made fully right, fully clean - I am fully loved, accepted by Him. And so are others - made right in Him!

Prayer

Dear Jesus,
Give me wisdom on how to discipline leaders who are in sin. Help me to lead, serve, shepherd others with Your heart - according to Your word! Thank you for not placing hard and heavy burdens and rules on me - so I can be made clean, right, whole in You! Oh MY!!!! WOWZAH!!!
