Look at Yourself

Calvin Kochi

Scripture

10 “Son of man, say to the Israelites, ‘This is what you are saying: “Our offenses and sins weigh us down, and we are wasting away because of them. How then can we live?”’ 11 Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?’

Observation

God gives Ezekiel a heplful warning to the Israelites. God instructs us let go of our offenses and sins so that we can live. The Lord doesn't take pleasure in seeing the sufferings and death of those He Love all He is asking is for us to repent, turn turn from your evil ways.

Application

I find that it is harder to see the areas in your own life that needs to be changed. It is easier to blame others and to complain to God, or to just blame God by saying why are you doing this to me. When we really take a closer look at our lives it is the sin and offenses that we are holding on to that killing us. Yet we blame God. The reality is true God doesn't take pleasre in see our lives destroyed or to see us suffering He want us to live. God will expose our sins so that we can turn from them.Yet for most of us we would rather stay the same and find someone or something to blame. I am reminded to take responsiblity for my own actions and to turn from them.

Prayer

Thank you for reminding me to look inside the cup. it is so much easier to looka t the things at others are not doing and to be furstrated and hold on to offenses. Lord I chose to release the offense aand frustration to you.
