Why Does God Allow Suffering?

Richard Waialeale

Scripture

Lamentations 2:11 (NIV)

11 My eyes fail from weeping, I am in torment within, my heart is poured out on the ground because my people are destroyed, because children and infants faint in the streets of the city.

Observation

To understand the suffering of the innocent, we need to understand sin from the beginning. It started with Adam and Eve and their sin infected each succeeding generation leading up to our time and for future generations. Children unfortunately suffer from their parents actions. For instance: drug and alcohol abuse, the absence of parents, pollution, lost of natural resources leading to diseases, cancer and poor health conditions. Just a whole gamut of disasters.

But the thing that hurts the most, in Lamentations and today, is how the innocent are caught in the middle of this suffering.

In many countries, children are caught in the middle, as a result of the older generations war and terrorism, again sin.

Application

I believe that God never wanted anyone to suffer, so He sent is only Son to die for our sins. Which means we must cling on to Him, and get everyone else vaccinated with the love of Jesus. He will protect us from death of the evil one and bring us to the glory of His Kingdom after this sinful life. If we understand that it’s not our fault, yet we are the result of what’s happening around us - we must protect our future by the saving Grace of God through Jesus Christ. That’s our hope.

Prayer

Lord I continue to pray:

1. The Lord gives NHO clear direction for a specific building or site with parking.

2. The Lord reveals a location between Kahala and Aiea.

3. The Lord will provide the resources for this new facility.

Lord if this is of You the help your servants I pray. Amen.
