My God is Fierce!

But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the LORD, and be sure your sin will find you out. Numbers 32:23
Observation
The men of Gad and Reuben were instructed to cross the Jordan into Canaan to do battle. Moses instructed them to arm themselves and GO - and the GO was to GO and conquer the enemies. There would be some major repercussions if they did not obey. Life in the wilderness as opposed to life in God’s promise land. But the Promise Land was not free, so to speak. Obedience to fight was necessary.
The thing that stands out to me about God is that He is NO WIMP. I think the fierceness of God is imaged in man. The innate fierceness of man (and woman) comes from a God who is strong, uncompromising and fierce. My God is relentless, powerful, just and intense - when it comes to accomplishing His purposes, for HIs people.

Application
The consequences of my failure to obey God is something I do to want to discover. My tae away is that I want to battle fiercely against the opposing forces of God in my life and soul. There are seasons where God teaches me to be desperately dependent upon Him - these are wilderness seasons. In these seasons “I feel like” I’m wandering and questioning myself and God.
But today, I want to be His fierce warrior - aggressively waging war on the enemies of my pride, lusts, greed, jealousies, insecurities…. and yes - I fight against them all in my life. I will obey my God - through His conviction, grace and power.

Prayer
Dear Spirit of my Mighty, Powerfully Fierce God!! I’m glad, honored, thankful and proud to call You my Commanding Chief, Warrior of all warriors - Higher than all other gods! I’m strengthened through Your Word - realizing that you are fierce, mighty, assertive, aggressive in nature - for Your purposes to be accomplished in my life. I love being a fighter on Your team, in Your family!
