Not Traditional, Yet Called

Richard Waialeale

Scripture

Galatians 1:15-16 (NIV)

15 But when God, who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace, was pleased

16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not consult any man...

Observation

Paul definitely was called by God to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ, but like many, did not come about by way of the traditional route. The traditional road of preaching and teaching comes by way of training and education. But even the Bible shows us that many who are called by God have not taken what we know as traditional. Whether uneducated or educated, when God calls, it is by the power of the Holy Spirit that we can accomplish all that is necessary to spread the Good News of Jesus.

Application

There are many roads that lead into ministry. Whether it’s the traditional route of being trained and educated or simply called by God, it is God that uses us and calls us for different purposes to spread the Gospels. The call is one thing, taking action is another. The point to today’s message is in the Bible, everyone who was called by God took action, they took possession of God’s call and like dynamite, the Good News exploded wherever they went. They simply needed to ignite the fuse.

Prayer

Father thank you for using us for Your Glory. Which ever road we arrived at Your Call we all have one thing in common, “Go and make disciples of all the nations.” We are commissioned to preach the Good News, In Jesus Name. Amen.
