Salvation through Jesus

Marsha Kochi

Scripture

Hebrews 2::1-3
1 For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it. 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty, 3 how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at the first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard

Observation

We are reminded in these verses that we must never take the life, death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ lightly. We must always, even through our trials, temptations and worldliness come back to the reason we have life. We must not neglect or deny what has been taught and poured in to us by the Word of God and the testimonies of the saints.

Application

I never want to drift away so I need to be deeply embedded, anchored in the Word and in my relationship with The Lord.
I must always focus on my call, and not forfeit what has been taught to me. I am designed by God to be a part of His redemptive purpose. I realize that I can only be me, and only do what He has called me to do.

Prayer

Thank You Lord for teaching and reminding me through Your Word how easy it is to think that I know all of this. It is so easy to drift away through the flesh and to receive worldly perspectives and take for granted the life message of salvation.
