The Battle Belongs to The Lord

Marsha Kochi

Scripture

1 Peter 4: 4 In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them into the same excesses of dissipation, and they malign you; 5 but they will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead."

Observation

Peter speaks of how we suffer for the sake of our call as Believers. We don't live the way we did before, and some will come against you because of that. Jesus examples suffering for the things that are true and right, and this is what we are to do, because of who we are in Christ.

Application

When my faith is tested, and I feel like I am being unjustly accused, or judged unfairly, the hardest thing to do is to keep from trying to defend myself. I ask God to get this person to tell the truth, and to keep them accountable. There is not one thing that escapes God. There are things that require my attention, may require me to bring correction to, but some that are not mine to battle, but His to judge.

Prayer

Thank You Lord for teaching me to understand this call in suffering for the sake of what is right. Thank you for helping me to understand that there are unnecessary casualties, when it is not my battle.
