To Live It Out

Calvin Kochi

Scripture

19Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with youalways, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

Observation

Jesus Great commission to us to go and make disciples, and baptize them. Then teach them to observe all that I have commanded you. Jesus shares his heart for the lost and challenges us to do the same.

Application

What great role and responsibility for me to live out. This is our commission from the Lord, and one that is given to all of us as believers. But winning the lost for the Lord is just one part of our role. The other is making disciples, baptizing them, and teaching them to observe His commandments. The part that caught me in these verses was, to teach them to observe all that I have commanded. How we am I able to meet that challenge. It is so easy to tell others how they should live and yet live a different lifestyle myself. How can I expect others to obey and you I fail to obey for myself. One of the responsibilities of a disciple to be accountable for you own actions, and to honestly examine how well you observe that the Lord is asking of you. The question for me is are you following through or do I even know what it is that the Lord is asking of me.

Prayer

Thank you for remind me the importance of seeking Your Face, and to spend the time in solitude with you. It is so easy to seek you in the business of my schedule and what I need to. Instead of taking the time in the stillness to know that you are in control.
