Relationships face to face

Richard Waialeale

Scripture

3 John 1:13-14 (NIV)

13 I have much to write you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink.

14 I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face. Peace to you. The friends here send their greetings. Greet the friends there by name.

Observation

John had much more he wanted to say to Gaius then through his letter writing, so he hoped to be able to communicate it in a meeting face to face.

In today’s technology of social media, we can easily lose the heart felt relationships of being together with people. It’s easier to simply text, instagram, facebook or email someone rather then face to face meeting. The use of high speed internet has taken away some of the heart felt relationships we once had.

Application

The use of high speed internet and keeping up with the ever changes in technology is extremely critical. Lord help me not forget, more importantly is the person on the other side of whom I’m communicating with. I realize that I cannot communicate the heart felt relationship of face to face better then any instagram, text or facebook can fulfill. There’s nothing like seeing, being with and feeling the heart of face to face contact. Getting back to Jesus.

Prayer

Father I thank you for the Bible and the simple truth of relationships. Love will conquer all, and there are many ways to see this happing in this world. But none better then seeing two people get together in the old way of face to face relationships. Thank you for loving me and blessing the people whom You love. Amen.
