the Great Rescue

Calvin Kochi

Scripture

13For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14

Observation

This is a great reminder as we head into Fathers Day. It reminds me of where I was and where I am now. I realize that my Heavenly Father Loves me so much that He has rescued me out of the darkness, and brought me to know the Love of His Son. It is through Jesus that I am redeemed and forgiven from the sins that kept me from being the person that he created me to be.

Application

I am so glad that the Lord brought me out of the darkness that I was living in and into a relationship with Him. I am thankful for being redeemed and forgiven. It is because I am forgiven that I to must chose to forgive. Sometimes it is easier to receive forgiveness than to give it. It is easier to hold on to the offense and allow bitterness to set in. Just as I have been redeem and forgiven so must I do like wise. It is a choice that must be made again and again. People will hurt you and you will hurt people, if we chose forgiveness we will be forgiven!

Prayer

Thank you for reminding me of the journey that you have taken me on. Just like the children of Israel as you took the on that journey through the dessert they have the choice of allow the journey to change their heart or remain obstinate and stubborn. Thank you for changing my heart.
