Ultimate Strength & Power

John Tilton

Scripture

Micah 5:4 He will stand and shepherd his flockin the strength of the Lord,in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth.

Observation

As Micah foretold what was to come through Jesus, he also foretold that Jesus would shepherd His flock with the ultimate strength and power from the Lord God. Because of this, those of His flock would live in peace and His greatness will be renown through the ages to come around the world. What is profound is that as Jesus is of the Trinity, He would still lead and shepherd through the power of the Lord God. The key is the source of the power and strength being of divine origin.

Application

In as much as I know and love the Lord, I often innately respond to situations in my own strength and power, naturally trying to figure our situations. Yet, by the example of Jesus Christ, I must remember that in the strength and power of Jesus Christ and the Lord God, I can do all things. This importantly extends to the mantle of leadership that I not attempt to lead from my human perspective which more times then not is carnal in nature, emotional and impulsive. It has been in those times that I have sought the Lord God first, that I felt and peace that manifested itself in strength and power to persevere and find resolution.

Prayer

Dear Lord, may I not tend to take matters into my own hands, but always remember to seek you first in the strength and power of your name.
