The Living Word

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
And when the governor had nodded to him to speak, Paul replied: “Knowing that for many years you have been a judge over this nation, I cheerfully make my defense. Acts 24:10
Observation
Paul’s life was on the line. The Jewish leaders and much of his very own community wanted his life terminated. Come to find out he was being wrongly accused, based on lies and the evil intent of the Jews who were filled with hatred for the Gospel and all that Paul now stood and lived for! Standing up for the person of Jesus will do that - get you in trouble with the haters of Jesus.
Application
I’m challenged yet blessed by Paul’s response. Knowing Paul, his defense was not only cheerfully given, but with the bold conviction of who he stood for - which was the Truth of his faith.

I’m blessed to have a role model like Paul that I can pattern my faith after. I’m challenged to be a cheerful apologists, defending my faith. I’m challenged to also be a constant student - a devoted thinker, studious and committed researcher of the Word of God. Mining the Word will require more time in prayer and study of His Word.
Prayer
Dear Word of Truth - You are my Living Word dear Jesus! Please reveal Your truths to me by Your Holy Spirit. May I become a teacher who need not be ashamed, rightly studying, researching and understanding Your truth! I love You… Living Word of God!
