Handling and Doing more without burning out – scene 2
Categories: Leadership, Volunteers

As His disciples, a fruitful life is non negotiable. We all desire to “be fully pleasing to Him” who called us out of our darkness into His marvelous light.

** WARNING!
This series of writings is not for the weary, those who are burning out. What you need is rest – a relief from God – a refreshing renewal of His heart and purpose for this season of your life. Don’t try to handle or do more. This may be another season that is perfectly fitted for you. No, not burn out, but a season of redirection, change, renewal…for your heart and soul. May the Lord bless you with guidance, peace, healing and wisdom in this season of your life.

Are you too comfortable with who you are or what you are doing? Has comfort turned into complacency? I’ve been there. Complacency is a disastrous place to be. Her company will lead us to live under developed, under utilized lives! Who wants to live status quo, ho-hum-dull-drum, beneath our potential kind of lives? Not you or I!

Exercise # One: Avoiding Root Rot
Colossians 2:7 Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him.

Our lives have many roots that affect our Spiritual, Mental and Emotional health. These roots are beneath the surface, unseen by men but known by us. We must give close attention to these roots. Without the proper attention and care, we will become malnourished which could lead to severe atrophy of our lives.

Proper nourishment includes:
• Developing an intimate, daily relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirt – yes…all Three of them. This is a life long relationship. These 3 are 1 God and we must grow in knowledge of who each one of the Godhead is; their character, role and responsibilities.
• Consistent, authentic devotional life. Am I reading the Bible or is the Bible reading me?
• Healthy understanding of the fear of the Lord.
• Constant repentance – no unresolved sin.
• A lifestyle of worship.
• Being one who prays for others.
• Keeping mentally, emotionally and physically healthy. Dealing properly with unhealthy thoughts and feelings.
• Relationships are healthy.
• Serving is worshipful and an honor.
• Having a Positive attitude.
• Developing Godly character.

This is part of my Nourishment List. What’s on yours?
