thoughts on insecure people

I took one (of my many) challenges from my “Challenges” page to write some thoughts that came to me. Below is what I wrote last week…

The eyes of insecurity - Have you ever been in contact with a leader type, who talked the talk, seemed to be walking the talk – but when in conversation you ask a question that challenges their character – their eyes reveal insecurities? Yes, it can be hard to tell and we shouldn’t judge. But in relationship with people, you can discern something is up when their eyes are shifty, or they don’t look at you with a sincere confidence. Oh well, it’s challenging when I encounter people who aren’t honest with themselves and others in any situation where things need to be talked through or convictions discussed – and their eyes seem to reveal their insecurities.

So here are some of my added thoughts:

All of us have issues of insecurities. They stand up like spines on a porcupine when we are challenged or placed in situations out of our control or comfort zone. Since becoming a Christian, I have been growing IN SECURITY in who I am and who He has made me to be! My insecurities can be banished when I’m IN SECURITY in Christ!

Ephesians 1

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
