Pondering my management and leadership background, Bob came to mind. Let’s just say Bob was one of those unique, once in a lifetime leaders that you wanted to emulate. Looking back, although I was frustrated with Bob many times, it was his conscientiousness and detailed oriented leadership that influenced me. When he required me to find solutions to employee challenges, require more of employees to accomplish the vision of our company – these are the kind of times that shaped me.

I find that people are less conscientious for various reasons. Maybe it’s self induced because “we” get caught up in setting our own standard rather than pushing ourselves to work harder, go above and beyond what’s expected.

I want to be more conscientious as a person, husband, father, neighbor, friend, pastor and leader.
