Proverbs 22

11 He who loves a pure heart and whose speech is gracious will have the king for his friend.

Throughout the Scriptures, the characteristics of having a pure heart and gracious speech is important to our King. Possessing these qualities will open the doors of leaders hearts and will grant us friendship and favor with people in authority.

In relationships, these 2 characteristics are so vital to developing friendships. If it works for relationships with Kings, it will work for all relationships.

Beckie & I celebrate 24 years today, one in Jesus – a covenant for life. I’m reminded of my relationship with Beckie – as soon as I read this verse. Her pure heart and gracious speech has enticed me to become like the Jesus in her! Our friendship has blossomed because of the purity of our hearts, a devoted, unconditional love for each other, the commitment that says – NO MATTER what…we are One in Jesus until the end!

But this morning, my heart is tweaked with conviction to do better in these 2 areas. There are times when my heart is not pure, my speech so far from graciousness. I have to fully commit daily, to the death of my flesh – to bring purity to life, within me.

The end in mind is friendship forever – with the wife of my youth and the children God has blessed me with.

Covenant Action:
Today – I say again…I do, to my wife – I do to a pure heart in and for Jesus. I do to gracious, kind words…for the sake of adding life to my never ending friendship with my Honee!!

I am of all men – called Blessed! I have been unconditionally blessed and favored by God, to be gifted with such a woman of God – who loves Him and me with all her heart and life.

God Almighty….please, please – bless your daughter – fill her heart with Your presence – overflowing! May I be – an ongoing answer to her prayers – to be a man after Your heart who delights to do your will! May I live in a way that makes You and Your princess happy!
